The A-MAYES-ING Adventure: Yosemite National Park

We spent Day 8, 9, 10 (June 3rd, 4th, & 5th) in Yosemite National Park!  We arrived late afternoon on June 3rd and set up our campsite.  Unfortunately Yosemite Valley was 45 miles away from where we camped (it is really hard to book a campsite INSIDE Yosemite so we camped just outside of the park).  We decided we'd get up really early the next morning (on June 4th) and drive in before most people were awake so we could enjoy the park more with less people out.  We drove to Glacier Point to catch an incredible panorama view of the Valley.  Then we hiked up Sentinel Dome to get another incredible panorama view.  After this we drove into the Valley.  This is when we realized how busy and popular Yosemite is.  We explored the Valley and went on a little hike around Mirror Lake.  June 5th was our five year anniversary!  We drove into the park very early and hiked a 7 mile loop to see Vernal Falls and Nevada Falls.  It was a beautiful hike!  That afternoon we left Yosemite and headed to San Francisco to spend the night.

This was our first view of Yosemite Valley.

Here we are hiking up Sentinel Dome.

There's El Capitan behind Rollin!

Yosemite Falls, one of the tallest waterfalls in North America.

There's Half Dome.

Driving through a tunnel is the last part of the drive before entering the Valley.

And this is your view after you drive through the tunnel!  Pretty incredible!

Yosemite Falls!!!

Yummiest ice cream bars EVER!

This is one incredible view!!!

Here's the same view early the next morning as we made our way back into the Valley.

There's El Capitan from the Valley floor.

Yosemite Falls in the perfect lighting!

Awesome picture to take on our anniversary!

Half Dome

Yosemite Falls, again.

Vernal Falls

That Vernal Falls is one powerful waterfall!

See the rainbow in the mist?  Hence, the name of the trail is called the Mist Trail.

On top of Nevada Falls now!

We looped around and took the John Muir Trail back to the trailhead to get a different view.  From left to right is Half Dome, Liberty Cap, and Nevada falls!

No matter what the weather is like, it's always an incredible view!
