The A-MAYES-ING Adventure: The Going To The Sun Road

We arrived at the western edge of Glacier National Park late afternoon of June 15th and Day 20 of our trip!  We decided to get right in the park and drive the Going to the Sun Road all the way to Logan's Pass and back down.  The nice thing about being so far north is that the sun didn't set until 9:45 at night so we had plenty of daylight!  Unfortunately the road past Logan's pass that leads you to the eastern side of the park wasn't open yet.  And it didn't open until the day we left Glacier...bad timing!  The nice thing about being so far north is that the sun didn't set until 9:45 at night so we had plenty of daylight!

Heaven's Peak was Rollin's favorite mountain we saw!

There's Heaven's Peak!

You can see the Going To The Sun Road etched into the side of the mountain!

Our jaws dropped when we saw this view!

The road was quite narrow!

Steep drop off!

The triple arches.  This was the hardest part of the road to construct!

Looking back.  There's the road we drove on!
