"Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you."

Isaiah 60:1

my love

This man is the love of my life.  I met him at LT during the summer of 2008.  I remember the first time I saw him I thought he was really tall.  I remember the first time I had a conversation with him, he inspired me to seek Jesus in a deeper way than before.  And that same night we had that conversation I remember asking Jesus if I could marry this guy.

We didn't really talk the rest of the summer, we were in different friend groups.  After LT I went back to Illinois and he went back to Texas.  I kept in touch with Rollin's younger brother, Noel, and we would set up times to Skype.  When it came time to Skype, Noel completely forgot he was supposed to hang out with someone else and since Rollin was around, Rollin was left to skype with me.  This happened, not once, but TWO times.  Both times Rollin and I had really edifying conversations and so we continued keeping in touch.

We skyped once every few weeks and we spent the whole time talking about Jesus.  It was the strangest thing ever.  There was no flirting...it was a brother-in-Christ and sister-in-Christ friendship we had.  I knew we were on the same page spiritually.  When I would share what was going on with me and my relationship with Jesus, he understood.

After months of this going on, I started feeling something different.  I started to like him.  I knew he was a man I could marry.  I knew we understood each other on a deep spiritual level and that was the most important thing.  The next summer of 2009 we were both at LT.  May 28th 2009 we started dating.  One year, one week, and one day later we got married.

Marriage has not been easy.  We are both so stubborn it's quite ridiculous actually.  But he really does get me.  And we share the same dream.  Jesus.
