The A-MAYES-ING Adventure: San Francisco & the Redwoods

We left Yosemite the afternoon of June 5th, our anniversary and Day 10 of our trip, and headed for San Francisco to spend the night.  We left the next morning, June 6th and Day 11 of our trip, and headed north up to our campsite in the Redwoods.   We spent June 7th (Day 12) just relaxing at our campground by walking around trails looking at the Redwoods and swimming in the river.  We packed up on June 8th (Day 13) and headed north to Crater Lake in Oregon.

Of course we had to drive across the Golden Gate Bridge!

You have to drive through downtown San Francisco to get to the Golden Gate Bridge.

There it is!

Alcatraz!

It was windy and a bit chilly!

The Pacific Coast in northern California.

Made it to our campground!

Getting camp all set up.

Camping among the Redwoods.

We hiked on a trail in our campground and got to see more Redwoods.

This is a banana slug.  You'll find these little guys among Redwoods.

Swimming in the river.  It was a bit cold.

At one point we swam across the river and found a trail that leads you around enormous Redwoods.

All packed up and ready on to Oregon!
