We spent June 8th and Day 13 of our adventure exploring the Crater Lake Area. Crater Lake looked like a painting. It was so unreal. We drove around the rim stopping here and there to look at the view and take pictures. We drove from the south rim to the north rim. On the north rim there's a trail that takes you 700 feet down to the surface of the water. We hiked that trail and enjoyed going to the water's edge. There were a lot of people actually SWIMMING in the lake! Rollin decided to jump in and swim around for a few minutes. The water was very cold.
After spending 5 or 6 hours there we headed north to our campground. The name of the campground was Thielsen View and it was extremely remote. The mosquitoes were terrible there, but the view from our campsite was incredible!!!!

Looking west. It almost looks like the Smoky Mountains! |

Here's the aftermath of lava flowing through certain areas. Normally it would be covered in trees. |

The big gasp of air after jumping into the frigid water. |
